HEALTHY GROWTH
We seek to ensure that products aimed at children are healthier and have a better nutritional profile than the benchmark for each market.
In 2022, and regarding the Biedronka Private Brand products for which there is a benchmark, 30% were healthier and more nutritional than other products on the market and 21% had the same profile. In Portugal, 20% of the most popular Pingo Doce and Amanhecer products amongst children were better than the benchmark and 80% had the same profile.
In Poland, and since 2020, all the products consumed mainly by children are free from preservatives, sweeteners, glucose-fructose syrup, phosphate, monosodium glutamate, hydrogenated vegetable oils and the emulsifier polyglycerol polyricinoleate (E476).
Also of note is the expansion of the Biedronka’s Dada brand to include food products in 2022. The range is produced specifically for younger audiences such as babies and children and saw pre-cooked meals and desserts introduced on the market.
At Pingo Doce, of note are the Veggie vegetable juices with no added sugar and the animal-shaped pasta for children.
